Windows 7 running slow?

Ever since iv got windows 7 (ultimate) it hasnt been opening web pages up and loading stuff as fast as windows xp, it shouldnt be running as slow as it is, here are my comp specs:

AMD phenom 2 x4

4gb ram

500gb hd

512 mb nvidia geforce 9800 gt
