Problems with Windows XP and Netgear WPN311 accquiring IP address.?

I installed Netgear RangeMax Wireless PCI Adapter WPN 311 on my mothers computer in February. It has been running and working great up until 3 days ago. Windows is not able to find and hold an IP address. Netgear is all set up, but constantly scans because windows can not acquire an IP address. At first it says it was behind a firewall....disabled those...now just trying to acquire.

Maybe try setting a static IP on your Netgear Router. If that doesn't work try setting a static IP using the network settings of your computer.

Check router settings and DHCP is configured to hand out an IP address and check the ranges if you have too many things connecting to the network they all require an individual IP address.

Set up a static IP address.
