What is the difference between 802.11a, b, g, n?

Bandwidth and range mostly.





802.11a: Operates at 5GHz, Range is about 35m, Net bit rate is 54 Mbit/s


802.11b: Operates at 2.4GHz, Range is 38m, Net bit rate is 11 Mbit/s.


802.11g: Operates at 2.4GHz, Range is 100m, Net bit rate is 128Mbit/s.


802.11n: Operates at 2.4GHz, Range is 300m, Net bit rate is 600Mbit/s.




N has the largest frequency




frequencies and how far they can me received n being the best.
